I subscribed to other newsletter before at Casey Research. It was pretty decent. But the Big Gold newsletter was a little disappointing, given my previous experience with other Casey Research newsletter. Like many other newsletters out there, there are more talks than analysis. Especially since it’s a gold newsletter, getting into [...] ... ( more)

Are there any good mechanical engineers out there to join me for a new invention?
Video-taping my children has become a pain in the arm. I have thought about this a couple of times. If a person can mount the camcorder on the shoulder (probably not on the head due to a weird feeling), [...] ... ( more)

Thanks to the reader westwest888, here is the Xmas party information for Freddie Mac. After losing billions of dollars and diluting shareholders’ stake, the GSE (government-sponsored enterprise) is throwing a Xmas party at the Ritz Carlton, McLean, VA.
I wonder how shareholders will receive this. Oh, and it’s in your S&P500 ETFs too.
Here is [...] ... ( more)

What a surprise! Or maybe not. I called up a local coin store. They had really good price. But they don’t have ANY silver coins available. Except the really big dealers like monex.com, I couldn’t get the silver coins that I wanted.
The store owner told me that silver coins have [...] ... ( more)

Naysayers will be wrong.
The patriotic supporters of Ron Paul have joined hands and broke a new record in US history for the biggest donation day online. Today is the tea party day.
Ron Paul is certainly the most knowledgeable candidate on economics, and have debated with Bernanke several times. He is probably the best [...] ... ( more)

Folks,
Five hours left on the celebration of Tea Party 2007. Ron Paul and the supporters have raised over 4 million dollars in the last 17 hours. It’s really not too late to join this Ron Paul movement. And it is never too late to be part of the American History. [...] ... ( more)

Today is the day of Tea Party 2007. Donate something or any amount to Ron Paul’s campaign.
There is a silent revolution going out there. In less than 8 hours today, from midnight till about now, 1.2 million dollars have been donated already. I hope that collectively we can break 4.3 million, which [...] ... ( more)

Adam Hamilton is an excellent writer as a gold-focused newsletter. But that does not help you much.
My personal experience with Zeal Intelligence newsletter is that it talks about the general market conditions a lot more than individual companies. He has a risk ranking of some 30 to 50 resource companies. But that [...] ... ( more)

This is a reminder that there is the last money bomb for 2007 this Sunday on Dec 16, 2007. I have pledged myself to donate $100 or more on that day at TeaParty07.com. But even if you just donate $5, that’s a mass democracy in action. Stand up and join together. [...] ... ( more)

It’s near the end of year. Time to sanity check your finances.
I just pulled my free credit reports from annualcreditreport.com which is a site mandated by government to provide annual free credit reports for consumers. Since there are 3 reporting agencies, I normally just check my credit reports twice or three times a [...] ... ( more)

In a bull market, it’s more dangerous to be out-of-market, rather than be in the market. The current correction in HUI looks like to be almost over, coincident to the rise of $USD.
Despite the fear in rally in $US to derail HUI, and/or a serious stock market correction due to mortgage problems, the chart [...] ... ( more)

I am sickened by Paulson and Bush’s bailout plans. On the other hand, I know that this subprime/negative ARM mortgage problem is a bigger hole than anyone can imagine. Florida, orange county in California, Montana, and more pension funds and money market funds will be hit one after another. The cover-up and [...] ... ( more)

Last night my wireless router is down. I had to connect my laptop directly thru ethernet physically to the wireless router, in order to get onto the internet and blog. Today’s post is therefore late than usual.

US dollar has rebounded from high 74 to 76 now. One should no doubt take the advantage of this rebound and pick up some euros, yens, canadian, or australian currency. Given that Fed is going to cut the interest rate relentlessly in the coming year 2008, $US will be left without any real [...] ... ( more)

As many of you know, 2008 is a presidential election year. The presidential elections in American represent in great part windows of opportunity to change the course and direction of the nation, and as such they deserve your careful attention.
After much thoughtful consideration, we bloggers have decided to endorse Ron Paul for President. Paul is [...] ... ( more)

The Hope Now Alliance is going to freeze the rates on ARM loans instead of letting them reset. That is absolutely unfair to anyone who doesn’t benefit from such deals. Why don’t I get some free points to buy down the interest rate, paid by the alliance too? Of course, if they [...] ... ( more)

I am testing MACD and RSI technical indicators by back-testing its utility of these technical trading signals. It is still a work in progress. But I already have some interesting results.
Since I’m most interested in precious metal and energy sectors, I used them for my back-testing. I’m going to write about MACD [...] ... ( more)

The stocks are running up now. This is in conjunction with $US rising (which means gold is falling). I don’t know how long this rally will last, but I think this rally should be sold. The exact timing is hard to pinpoint, but I’m guessing probably mid-January to late February.
I moved some [...] ... ( more)

Did anybody who read my blog got into this world-record breaking hedge fund which returned 10X in 1 year? I got the performance number from Minyanville’s article on 1000% Subprime contained. I have cleaned up my blogroll. Those that don’t meet my criterion of posting twice a week were taken off. Monday’s opening will be interesting, assuming that half-day trading on Friday doesn’t count much.
On Wednesday, the venerable Dow Theory generated a sell signal, closing below August 16th’s closing level. The weird thing is that on August 16th, the intraday level is actually lower than the intraday level on last Wednesday. Although I give [...] ... ( more)

This is a long weekend. Hope you all had fun.
I’m buying Canon SD1000 for $150, and Panasonic Palmcorder SDR-H18 Hard Disk/SD Card Camcorder for $350, both from circuitcity.com. I’ve shopped at many places, that seems to be the best deals around, better than Costco and BestBuy, or even Fry’s electronics. You can [...] ... ( more)

At the thestreet.com, Helene Meisler is one of my most respected technicians. I currently don’t have an active subscription to her publication. But occasionally I watch for her words. Unfortunately, listening to her words this time around cost me a small fortune.

I’ve compared the prices on electronics many times. Costco quite often disappoints me. I really expect better pricing from Costco.
Here are some examples:
1. JVC GZ-MG155US HDD 30GB camcorder at my local Costco is selling for $489.99, but the cheapest price from the internet is $329. That is $170 price difference, or some [...] ... ( more)
